Asset-Based Mapping

Picture
Asset-Based Community Development has been in use since the Institute for Policy Research first outlined the process in the 1990s.  Asset mapping focuses on what people, neighborhoods, and communities have.  These strengths are the foundation upon which communities should build.

It's as simple as creating post-it-notes with strengths, and then grouping them by categories and mapping linkages.  Start with what is working, and go from there!
